THE FFF

HISTORY

Since 1919, the French Football Federation regulates and develops the most popular sports, Football, on the amateur and elite level.
They were at the edge of innovation when it came to develop football worldwide, creating the 1st ever World Cup, back in 1930.

Enhance the commitment within French football

Promoting Women Football, highlighting the volunteers, and supporting local clubs to make them places to socialize are among the priorities. The whole spectre of the football family is involved : amateur and high level players male and female, staffers and admins.

Widespread grassroot football

By widespreading grassroot football all across the territory, the FFF is adjusting its services to the evolution of the way people consume football, and their different lifestyles. With new kinds of licenses, the increase of grassroot sections, the development of 5 aside football and Futsal, and also new kinds of games, the FFF is matching the new expectations from the public and provide answers to all sorts of needs.

Boost the structuring of Women football

Starting 2012, the FFF has set in motion a strategy of feminization in order to value the place of women in amateur and elite football (players, coaches and referees) as well as key positions in clubs and institutions. This reshaping led to an significant increase of the number of licensed players (50.000 ladies in 2011, 179.000 today) and brought the different women national teams to the highest stage of international competitions. The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is considered by all to be the most succesful edition in History.

PERFORMANCE, EXCELLENCE AND PRESTIGE

The power of the National Football Center, and the French way of training in general, owe a lot to Georges Boulogne. From his brilliant career, we will remember the fact that he was the first National Technical Director, collaborating very closely with his President, Fernand Sastre.

Together, they launched and developed 2 symbolic institutions: the National Football Institute – at first set up in Vichy then relocated in Clairefontaine in 1988 – and the football coaches and execs training courses program – today regulated by the Football Training Course Institute

When we mention these 2 major figures, we should keep in mind the many others who, under their dynamic or inspired by development programs, made Performance, Excellence and Prestige – 3 essential legitimate values.

HOUSE OF FRENCH FOOTBALL

The National Football Center has made a priority to optimize and modernize facilities and equipments: providing to the several National Teams the best training conditions to prepare for the main international competitions.

The 4 World Cups, 15 European Championships and the 2 Confederation Cups won by our Bleus after preparing in Clairefontaine is a testimony of this total commitment.

In addition to that, the Federation has done its utmost efforts into the training courses program by organizing dozens of training courses for elite level coaches, and by hosting all year long the forty-some young promising players in the pre-formation program at Clairefontaine.

Since 2006, the FIFA awarded Medical Center of Excellence, and more recently the technological improvements of the Video Analysis Cell made the Research and Development Department the third major pilar of the National Football Center.
